Genius Hour
Many parents are wondering "What is this Genius Hour thing my child keeps talking about? What do we have to do? When is it due? What are the expectations?" If you have asked any of these questions, or if you are just hearing about Genius Hour for the first time, no need to worry! I will make sure you have all the information needed to make Genius Hour a successful and positive experience when we get closer to project time. Science Review at Home
Remember "The Magic School Bus"? This was a great show to help reinforce science concepts for kids. Did you know that all of the episodes are available on Netflix? Feel free to have grade 5/6 students watch episodes that cover the topics we are learning about in class. For example, we just finished learning about the digestive system and are moving on to the respiratory and circulatory systems. There is an episode for each of these topics, just read the title and description for each episode to find the correct one! Watching "The Magic School Bus" can be a great way to review learned material and even prepare for assessments or quizzes.
